The jetty extends quite a way out into the ocean. You should not try to venture out on the jetty. Besides being quite difficult to negotiate a sneaker wave can easily wipe you out. Sneaker waves can and do kill a number of people on the Oregon Coast who ignore warnings to venture out where it is not safe.
