Umpqua Lighthouse

Umpqua Lighthouse State Park, Oregon Coast

This lighthouse first built in 1857 but destroyed by a flood in 1864. Rebuilt in 1891 at a cost of $50,000 and construction completed in 1894. It sit at an elevation of 165 feet and the tower is 65 feet high. The light can be seen 19 miles out to sea.

The Umpqua River Lighthouse towers above the entrance to Winchester Bay. The 65-foot tower contains a distinctive lens that emits a red and white flash. The lighthouse and adjacent museum are operated and maintained by the Douglas County Parks Department. Tours are offered May 1 through September 30.
