At the top of the observatory there is a bronze "peak finder" is located in the center of the structure. Some twenty mountains, peaks and other sites can be found by their azimuth on the marker. Black Butte (40 degrees), Black Crater (82), North Sister (168), Middle Sister (174), Little Brother (178), Husband (147), Scott Mt. (256), South Belknap (282), and Belknap (309), just to name a few.
