Tall Beggarticks

Bidens bulgata - Locally common, all summer, annual, 25-44 in. Slender, erect, branched stem. Leaves opposite, pinnately divided into 3-5 leaflets on short stalks, Flower heads at stem top, without noticeable petals, to 1 in. across in seed; 10-16 densely hairy phyllaries to 2 in. long surround the shorter yellow or olive-brown disk. Grows in moist places. Native.
