Northern Green Bog-Orchid

Platanthera hyperborea - Uncommon, midsummer, perennial, 6-40 in. Erect stem with green flowers. Leaves only on stem, lance-shaped, 2-5 in. long. Inflorescence incudes flowers, leaves in loose to dense spike with flowers attached at leaf axils. Flowers green to yellowish-green; 2 upper petals and sepal nod together, covering rest of flower; lower petal tapers smoothly to sharp point; round spur noticeably curved with rounded point. Grows in conifer forests from coastal to subalpine. Native.
