Giant Horsetail

Equisetum telmatiea - Horsetails can be recognized by their succulent, hollow, jointed stems with terminal spore-producing cones. Many species have separate reproductive and vegetative systems. The stems break away from the rhizomes making nearly impossible to eradicate the plants. Spraying will not effect the plant. We have a few in a particularly wet spot. Mowing keeps ours in check.
