Basal leaves narrow, not lobed,; stem leaves lobed to sharply pointed thread-like in center, bracts and calyces with sharp tips. Fklower white, small, with 4-5 lobes, stamen and style usually not extended much beyond tube. Grows in gravelly, often volcanic soils at low to high elevations. Native
