Wild Radish

Raphanus sativus - Common, all spring and summer, annual or biennial, 1-4 ft. Erect, rough with sparse, short, stiff hairs. Stems with many branches in upper portion. Basal and lower leaves pinnately lobed, the terminal lobe widely oval to round and 1-4 in. long, with short petiole; upper leaves sessile, toothed. Flowers many at stem tops, usually purple, pale yellow, or rarely while. Seed pod 1-2 in. long, rounded at base, tapering to long sharp beak pointing upward. Pod does not break between seeds. Common weed of disturbed soils, fields, roadsides, at low elevations. Nonnative.
