Shellfish Scented Russula

Russula xerampelina - Cap 1-6 in. wide; broadly convex to flat with sunken center; margin radically lines and fragile; sticky to dry. Edibility: Reported Good. Season: July to September. Habitat: Under conifers, especially hemlock, Douglas Fir, and Pine; in mixed woods. Range Widely distributed in North America.
