Grassland Saxifrage (Early Saxifrage)

Saxifraga integrifolia - Locally common, all spring, perennial, 5-14 in. Rosette of leaves, erect stem. Leaves 1-3 in., oval hairy, entire or with very small teeth; petiole short. Flower stems reddish, covered with glands, holding ball-shaped clusters of flowers. Petals widely oval, white, green or tinted purplish. Grows in spring-moist meadows at low to high elevations. Native.
