Wood Sorrel (Redwood Sorrel) (Oregon Oxalis)

Oxalis oregana - Common, all spring and summer, perennial, 2-8 in. Prostrate, with thick creeping roots. Leaves clustered at root tips, each on slightly hairy petiole less than 8 in. long. Leaf divided into 3 heart-shaped leaflets often maroon underneath, plain or marbled above. Flowers solitary on long stalks, white or pink, petals lance-shaped, 1/2-1 in., often with darker pinkish red veins. Grows on undisturbed floors of redwood or Douglas-fir forests at low elevations.
