Bull Thistle or Common Thistle

Cirsium vulgare - Thistles are considered weeds by most folks and includes us as well. Common thistle or Bull Thistle is a stout plant that grows 2 to 3 feet tall and has spiny irregularly lobed leaves. The purple heads are very conspicuous. Native of Europe. About 200 species of thistles exist. We eradicate them each year when we see them.
