Grease

1. Animal fat in a melted or soft state. Pour off the grease after frying the bacon.
2. Any oily or fatty matter. Some put grease on their hair.
3. Shorn but not yet cleansed wool. Unwashed wool is quite greasy.
4. To put grease or fat on something, especially to lubricate. The auto's gears must have grease regularly.
5. To bribe. We greased his palm to allow us to pass.
6. (aviation) To perform a landing extraordinarily smooth. I greased in my landing despite the strong winds.
7. Something, such as money or influence, that facilitates the attainment of an object or a desire. If we can't grease them with money we will grease them the hard way.
