Lewis Ke Family Courtyard Visit to Lewis Ke Family, Countryside
10. Greeted at the Family Home

The next day we went to the village where Lewis Ke lives. We met the family and all of the villagers. They were poor but proud of their village. All were hard workers and were proud of Lewis Ke. They told me that the family had sold their tractor to help pay for the lad's tuition. They also informed me that the whole village had helped to finance his education and he was the first to go to a University from his village. Each of the village elders told me how proud they were of Lewis Ke and how happy that he was doing so well. We were happy to encourage his parents and all the people in the village to continue their help for Lewis Ke. Typical rural peasant homes all have a walled courtyard with a high gate at the entrance.
