Chairman Mao Zedong Statue

This statue of Chairman Mao Zedong is one of the few left in China. It is in front of a large department store. The department store was built by the Russians when Russia and China were good friends. It is ugly and decrepit building and replaced a many-century old Palace of the Shu Dynasty. What a shame to destroy such a beautiful palace for such a monstrosity. Chairman Mao usually has some pigeons resting on his hand and head doing what pigeons usually do to statues. This statue is at the north end of People's Road South (Renmen Nan Lu).
