16. Yokohama Street

The Japanese have made a remarkable recovery from the years of the war. Their economy got a major boost from the Korean War. With thousands of GIs in Japan and a lot of war material purchased there also helped. The Japanese are a hard working and industrious people. They were most friendly to me. I have many fond memories of Japan. From the years I spent in China I get a feeling in that they deny any of the barbaric treatment they gave to the Chinese civilians.
