Like most Chinese commanders Peng Dehuai exercised control over his armies by close and direct control. An aggressive leader with some fifty-years of military experience Marshal Peng mounted a strong offensive against the UN forces. Revered, loved and greatly respected by the Chinese people even today, Peng still has a great place in Chinese history. Brutally killed and vilified during the Great Cultural Revolution, he was later exonerated as a true Chinese Hero.
