Location in Oregon
Black-headed Grosbeak Common in open woodlands, especially deciduous. Song is a long continuous Robin-like whistle. Call, a single loud peek, is easily recognized. They stopped by briefly for food and drink. Colorful birds. We keep binoculars handy to see the birds closely and a book to identify them. They now regularly visit the sunflower seed feeder.
