Rough Leaved Aster

Aster radulinus - Locally common, late summer-autumn, perennial, 8-28 in. Erect stems with large leaves. Stems, leaves covered with rough hairs. Leaves mostly with petioles, 1-4 in. long, widely oval, firm, sharply toothed. Flower heads held in cyme, each with 10-15 white or light purple ray flowers and yellow disk; cap bracts have purple edges. Grows in dry woods, at low elevations. Native.
