Mimulus guttatus - Common all summer, annual or perennial, 3-36 in. Spreading to upright. Stems fleshy. Leaves oval to round, irregularly toothed, with pointed tip; upper leaves sessile, more or less clasping stem. Flower stalks 1/4- 3 in. long, usually 5 or more yellow flowers near top of flower stem. Flower lower lobes have large to small red dots in throat area; upper lobes plain, smaller. Grows in all types of wet places from near coastline to mid elevations in mountains.
