Mountainbells (Bronze Bells)

Stenanthium occidentale - Uncommon, midsummer, perennial, 1-2 ft. Stem weakly upright, slender. Basal leaves 2-4, grasslike, 4-12 in. long. Flowers hang along top part of nodding stem, bronzy yellow to green bells spotted with purple, tips of petals curling back, fragrant. Grows in moist meadows, banks of shady streams, at low to subalpine elevations. Native.
